Well, being off today and having rain raise our local river to a fishable level again, I decided to head back and retrace my exact steps to try to locate my lost net and sunglasses
...and maybe wet a fly or two...
After the long hike upstream and cutting in to the river I found my net hanging in thick brush just before I must`ve entered the river
...One down and one to go
...started fishing a few runs and tried prospecting for the browns/rainbows that reside there...after a few drifts,I got the telltale tug of a heavy fish
...I felt good weight but a quick head shake and the fly popped out
...oh well, theres more water to fish while I search for the lost shades...next fast run gave up nothing... but at the tailout ,i rolled a decent fish
...but I knew he felt the hook prick and would`nt hit again...nothing more as I fished my way down to the last run before I have to cut back out towards the truck...the run looked great with more water than last week and a nice tint from the storms of lately...I fished from the opposite side ,but could`nt get the right drift..I then crossed back and the action picked up
...heres some pictures of todays prospecting for brown gold
....BTW, the search and recovery mission only came out with the net and a few beautiful golden brown trout as well...which in my books is a successful mission anyday despite being the infamous Friday the 13th....
Enjoy...
