Middle Settlement produced a 4 lb plus Brookie...

Several years back. I think it held the record for a short time until it was surpassed. It was caught on a nightcrawler from what I recall.

    Good luck.

I thought pondhopper or wb or marzw would chime in here but since they didn't... read this thread. I remember the day because I had my son in there the same day.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

        Thats a nice fish,
I went back into middle branch and middle settlement last weekend, didnt bring a fishing pole though because ididnt know about the fishing or if the ice was out,

when we arived at middle branch at about 2 pm on friday there was a thin layer of ice on about half of the lake, by the time we left in the morning it was all gone,

the temps were in the 70s during the day, when we arrived at middle settlement on sat. there was no ice or hardly any snow,

we planned on staying at the leanto, but when we arrived there was a couple there with there young daughter so we moved to on of the tent sites witch are just as nice, the other tent site was also full.

        the loons were very active.

Lots of blowdown on the trail as to be expected this time of yr. I guess,
It made it easy for finding firewood though.
