Fishing Net Repair

Any ideas on how to repair this small fishing net that I purchased from The Crossroads last Spring?
I'm not sure what the frame material is made of but seems like some sort of Poplar or similar..?

Glue it, clamp it and wrap it with a tiny bit of carbon fiber and saturate with epoxy resin.
BTW, I have carbon and resin if you want some.
