Thanks guys, yea this one is definitely a trip that would be hard to forget any time soon. I cannot wait to get back to this area in the spring and see if the action is the same, or I just got lucky with timing.

I just got home yesterday from a pretty interesting 9 day up in the Adirondacks, and figured I would share a few pictures of the nicer fish I managed to land while out there. This trip started out a bit different than usual, with me guiding some hiking trips immediately before the trip, and a canoe trip immediately after, but the 9 days I had solo turned out to be exactly what I needed to unwind.

I hit up some lesser used ponds and lakes, without much intel to go off of as far as the fishing was concerned. I went in not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised at how solid the action was! Besides these 6 really nice Trout and LL Salmon that you see here, there were plenty of smaller Trout and Sunfish to catch in between, always keeping me busy. I had to bushwhack into one of the ponds and when I saw how shallow it was, I was certain I would catch nothing. Much to my surprise though I ended up catching the second largest Brookie of the trip in there. I managed to camp on or at least fish every pond and lake in the area I was staying, and caught fish on all of them.

Towards the end of the trip, I did have one VERY interesting night, when a fairly large black bear was completely undeterred by the sound of my yelling and banging pots and pans trying to get him to move on. Utterly nonplussed, the creature simply sat down on his hind quarters about 20 feet away from me and cocked his head to the side at my ludicrous display. I guess in the end he figured I was more trouble than whatever he smelled was worth, and casually walked, with absolutely no fear.
