Where did ya catch this nice one? I see your from Oriskany. I'm from the area too, and I fish the Oriskany Creek where it crosses the road by Norton Ave. in Clinton. It's a good time of the year because all of the summer people have gone inside and left us some peace and quiet! Just a little humor.You only live once, so be certain to make of it what you want. -
Yeah really CW....might as well keep the tip-ups in storage and string up the flyrod again and make believe its springtime
....thats a really nice looking rainbow...nice girth and color...very healthy looking
...not much colder even in the next 7 days...definitely not going to be a white christmas this year...

All I can say is that I didn't catch it in Oriskany! PM me if you want details.
I fish Norton ave and many other spots on the Oriskany too. They really hosed the creek when they bulldozed and rip-rapped that stretch behind the houses upstream of Norton. There used to be some great holes in there, now its one long med shallow riffle with no trees for cover. I fished up around Dugway a couple weeks ago and got a couple decent browns.Comment

Yeah, ice fishing is gonna be late. Well, I hope things button up soon...early ice has always been pretty good for us....even if it goes into January before we get out...maybe it will stay longer this year ...last year I hit Indian Lake March 29th( ice was on its way out though)...the opener for trout season was just a few days away...

Ill be up in the Inlet area for new years, and Im hoping for snow so I can x-c ski, but if not Ill bring my flyrod and hit the Fulton Chain!Maybe this will be the year I can ski to the edge of the lake and break out my rod for some fishing!

Oriskany Creek is one of my favorites south of the Daks! My biggest stream caught browns came out of the Deansboro area. Ive had a lot of luck using a Wooly Worm there.Tight lines!" A Trout is just too damn valuable to be caught only once."

I think i see a cool off making its way around here next week
...hopefully, ice will start forming sometime in Jan...and stay this year right through....it seems the past few years....we would get some safe ice and then a crazy thaw w/ rain and the ice turns crappy(honey combed as the ol` woodsmen would say) ...that ice makes me very nervous...fingers are crossed...and,anybody know the situation on the VHS desease and how the bait shops in the Adk`s are doing with getting certified emeralds and icicles in their shops for sale...
