Good trout streams in Northern Area?

Hoping some can help a new member from the great white north.

I'm looking for wadable trout rivers/streams/brooks in the northern part of the park that I can hike into for an overnighter trip. I will be coming south on hwy 30 from Malone.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Note that I am a catch-and- release/no trace type of fly fisherman looking for a little serenity.

    Thanks

    Brian,

If you're looking for some tips, you might want to try Rich Garfield at www.flyfishtheadirondacks.com. He's a guide who knows that area better than anyone I know.

I've heard good things about Caulkins Creek. You can hike into the Caulkins creek lean-to from Corey's road. If you want a longer hike there is the Cold River.

Calkinsbrook is good like Val said, Not a lot of big holes to fish ,If you keep going on the trail you will also come to Bouldar brook another trout stream,That is better fishing If you look at your map you will see Sewards pd at the source of it, try that you can fish your way up if you want, When you come to the end of the Cb trail to the Coldriver look to your right, Moose creek emptys into it, That is real good trout fishing, There are leantus there,
You will have the area to your self. If you need more info Pm me,
