It rained here on Saturday so I didn't fish...I know that's a terrible excuse. I fished Factory Brook between Homer and Scott Sunday morning between 10:30 and 12:30. The water temps were 42 when I started, I am sure it rose while I was there. No black flies. But they are out in my back yard here in Skaneateles. I caught several of these.

Not a bite all last week, even in the most reliable spots, didn't even see anything in any of the creeks. Canoed from fish ladder to mouth on Bouquet and Ausable mouth, saw one guy with one landlocked, about 22", on Bouquet last Sunday, everyone was complaining, but all claimed to do OK prior weekend. Did see a guy with a nice stringer on Putnam Creek.

Wasn't over the weekend, but I did some fishing Wednesday - Friday of last week. My brother in law convinced me to spend a few days with him flogging the Catskill waters down around Roscoe. Having never been there, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to play in some different waters.

We spent the majority of our time on the East Branch of the Delaware, not far from Downsville. The conditions were perfect, couldn't have asked for better weather or fishing conditions. The fish were seemingly less than enthused about the situation, however, and didn't viciously strike at everything that came their way.

All was not lost though. I caught several fish on dry flies that I had ties with my very own, grubby, mitts!! Yep, I crafted them feathered beasts and somehow managed to put them in the right place and at the right time. That was the thrill of the weekend. Come to think of it, I'm still rather psyched about it....
