    Fishing Trip Reports....and pics

I thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread where we can share up to date reports and/or pictures.....specifics are up the individual of course. And on that note...a couple pics from today's catch. Both of the same fish...a 13" squaretail...a little beauty.

Nice pics Gray Ghost is that a recent catch? and from what area of the ADK? I was heading to the St. Regis area yesterday but was stopped dead in my tracks when I came up the throughway onto 73, I saw Chapel pond frozen pretty sold only a very little water exposed. I have to say I was very disappointed after driving 5 hours. I should have called my canoe outfitter he would have told me that there is atleast a good week to go before the waters are navigable.

GG...that is one fat trout! Nice catch..you picked a beauty of a week....nice day out there today and yesterday!

Mar71.....too bad you did not post a question about ice conditions here on the Forum...I could have saved ya some driving! We are still locked up pretty good here in the SW Adirondacks, and north of here it hangs on a little longer...maybe by late next week it will be open water...but the streams are in good condition.

Most of the eastern adk's are thawed from what I've seen. Although if you are looking for a smaller pond/lake it will take some sun and rain to get through the layer of slushy ice on the surface.

I only wish I could fish the ADK's everyday...

I live west of Buffalo and fly fish 18-mile creek for steelhead. Lake Erie never froze this year and the fish now are either spawn or post spawn and heading down.

I caught 8 on Monday, using sucker spawn, scented and dead drifted in one of my favorite holes. Not bad for a 5-hour day.

The bass, carp, suckers ect. are already in the creek, I guess we are going to have an early spring.

Next outing, I will bring my camera.

I went for some Browns today, but got skunked...and this is one of my hot spots. I'll be back out tomorrow for some squaretails and hopefully have better luck.

The trout seem to be shut off right now. I fished for a couple hours before dark without a bite....I'm hoping to get out again this weekend.
