hey everyone, i was wondering if i could get some recommendations on brook trout streams in the high peaks...actually im looking for trout streams anywhere in the mountains...im not a big fan of fishing big lakes or big rivers so something smaller and secluded preferably...and also im kinda new at fishing (i really only got into it last year) so any tips on what kinds of bait/lures to use would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Take a look at the stocking lists on the DEC website, Brad. That would be a great place to get started. All of the lists are organized by county, too. For the very small streams I like very light line, a #6 hook, and a worm/crawler. Usually the wait of the worm is enough, so a split shot isn't necessary. It's certainly not rocket science, but I know of no better way to take stocked trout in small streams, though there are certainly alternatives.
