    Muzzleloading Magnum charges.

How much/many powder/pellets do you use? What do you get out of a magnum charge; another 25, 50 yards?

I have a 50 cal Encore in which I shoot 100 grains of Pyrodex. I have shot 130, and 150 grains out of it with good results. That said I went back to 100 grains for the simple reason it was cheaper to shoot, and I felt I wasn't "leaving anything on the table" by backing down. If your trying to stretch your capabilities to the max with heavy bullets/long distance then go big. If your trying to make reasonable shots then 100 grains is good.

In reply to your other post, I shoot the Hornady SST bullets and have had great results. I shot powerbelts and wasn't impressed at all.
