    Forked Lake trout?

i have read and heard that there is brook trout to be caught in Forked lake where i will be headed in the coming week. i was curious as to the best way of fishing for them. i've read that the migrate deeper in the summer months and am not too keen when it comes to trout fishing. i would love to hear any suggestions on how to fish them if anyone has any. thanx

    Brookies

I would suggest trying a stickbait down deep on the bottom. http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/Prod...PinsMinnow.htm is what I like to use. Tie a keel sinker about 21in above the lure and run it slow.

A Wobbler is always a good stand by for Specks. You guessed it, slow and on the bottom. Tie on a good swivel, attach your wobbler, (I like the Copper/Silver split) then another swivel to the other end of the Wobbler then attach between 12 and 24 in piece of mono and the fly or bait of your choice. Garden Hackle is a staple.

If all else fails...try this, get out in the middle of the pond, anchor off, open a cold beverage, open one for your buddy, tie on a hook, splitshot, and toss a Garden Hackle to the bottom. It may seem old fashioned, but it works.

    Good Luck

There are trout to be caught in the lake but you're likely to catch bass this time of year. Hint: Try the tribs.
