Hello,
Yesterday, a thread I just opened in regards to trail suggestion got closed apparently because it was redundant and similar to other threads. I was told that the information I was looking for was already available if I would seach for it.
I understand that the moderators are trying to keep this forum clean and they probably do a good job at doing it but let me give you some comments:
-It is obvious that people who are very active on a forum can know that the information is already there. What about people who are new? One could tell me to search before posting but I personally never saw a pirate go after a treasure without having enough hints that it exist.
-If you go to a store to buy hiking boots, you will probably going to ask the salesperson the same questions that everybody else are asking. Will he turn you back telling you that all the information is available and you just have to go and do a bit of research on your own, obvisouly not. After all, almost everyone is looking for the same thing: Comfort, durability, support, etc.
The reason you are asking questions is to be guided so you can make a clear choice. When I posted my thread, my intention was to be guided.
Now, as a moderator, you probably know what type of information has already be discussed but this is only because you are active on the forum.
So, next time, please think about people who are new and might not be aware of redundant threads or have time to search through hundreds of thread to find a piece of information.
Thanks
