    Wary Trout

    Hit the stream fairly early today...6AM...Too groggy or would have started earlier...Once again no risers...Did use a dry for quite awhile with no hits...Switched to the soft hackle combo and got 4 good hits in a row...Trout are getting educated or wary or both...A couple of more strikes and finally landed a small rainbow...

    Met WB's mink friend...Scrambled amongst the rocks across stream, dove under and he's one for one with a crayfish between his teeth for his morning breakfast... I had cheerios....

    In some fast water got two vicious strikes....Thought for sure my fly would be gone...Amazing they can hit so hard and spit it out so fast...

    Water was nice...Didn't take a temp, but it seemed cool still...


    Trout 12.... Me....3 No big guys today...

      Oh, you did get out...about time this board had a fresh post of an outing....

      At least you had some nice action and that picture is of a pretty little rainbow jewel....they are so colorful from that river...

      Hey, also glad you ran into my mink friend. ..we should give him a name....anybody got any idea what we should name him/her???Its always seen rambling around hunting for food and playing...neat animal to see along a quiet riverbank...how was the water level??? Glad to hear you got out...alot better than what I did today....
