I have carved lures for about a year. It is a hobby that if discovered when trying to find an alternative to fly tying (i wanted to try something new and different.) I would recoment it. It takes a sharp knife, and a little hardware to start. There are a few sites which offer ideas of how to start and at least one which sells a kit. I would recomend it to anyone. I am wondering if anyone else carves fishing lures.

I think that they should host a survivor in the Adirondacks. Both teams get a over under rifle shotgun, box of matches, and a petersons edible plants field guide.Tags: None -

Hey Saveatree,
I always wanted to carve trout out of balsam, but never got around to it...never thought about doing lures...sounds interesting though...do you use balsam to make lures????
