I am going to be in the area this weekend and was wondering where is the best place to fish and what should I use.Is anything hatching?

Okay lets first begin with where...

I would suggest starting in the early am at hole# 10 Monument Falls above the falls. Be very quiet getting in the water. Use a BIG MEATY streamer or Wooly Bugger. Be very ready your first or second good rip through there.
Then drop down to Hole# 12 Shadow Rock. A Well placed Wulff or similar will draw out at least one fish. If a few drifts doen't take 'em off the top tie on an ISO or similar dropper nymph. They lay tight to the rock. (You can't miss it, its a BIG rock)
Go get Lunch, get prepared for the evening combat fishing. Bring your steel mesh wadders.
During the heat of the day you want to try a few of the deep holes along holes# 15 & 16. One in particular is a very narrow cravass between the ledges and the road is very good. I like to swing very small 18,20 scuds (my fav color is Olive) Nymph the depths for your mid day fish.
For the eve. You want to Secure Hole# 13. Basset Flats. You want to cross the river and fish back to the road from the far side. You will see the rocks I have posted below. Fish the rocks. I personally watched my cousin catch a 22in Brown on a DRY! I couldn't believe it. We now call it Ralphs Rock, In PIC. I too have caught many 20 in fish here, but all on nymphs. The fish in the pic I caught off Ralphs Rock on a Dry however. I caught all my fish (12 total that eve largest 17) on a small size 16 Olive caddis. White Cahills, Hexs,BWO all are good too and of course the Ausable Wulff.
