Flyfisher takes on a new twist!!!!

Took my daughter on a mtn hike in the Adk`s,,,It would`nt be so bad for an agile experienced mtn jumper ,but....for us water dwelling creatures it was`nt that easy..........

The mtn. is called Round mtn. It was only 2.3 miles from the trail head ,but right from the gitgo it tested your endurance...

After 1 and half hours we reached its bounty!!! and what a view!!!!!!!

Thats the reward of the sweat and bugs ....A new angle of viewing these pristine Adks...

We had a great day and stopped for lunch at our favorite place `the Noon Mark Diner`..

Awesome day...but I still was looking at the trout streams and looking for their rises......

    WB

    p.s..hopefully pics will follow tomorrow.
    Goodnight......

Glad to hear you had a great time!

Hope you didn't feel like a fish out of water, good to have some variety.

sounds like a good time...bet you did feel like a fish out of water...Hope our fly fishing expeditions (not flyfishing as some people call it) helped you a bit with your work out. The "Bridge Over The River Kwai" once again...

Yeah, thank God I do get out alittle in the woods on our fishing treks....but....its still nothing like going straight up 2-3miles on an immoveable object....

But, every year ,it gives me great pleasure to push past my own limits and gain access to those pretty mtn panoramas..... Its something my daughter and I have been doing each year since she was 4yrs old..... Kind of like a yearly pilgrimage.Except some years we did two mtns.

We are a lucky bunch ,to have all this as our playground ,in our own backyard...so to speak....

Now, after 14 of those rocky inclines in the past years,I`m looking forward to another one at the end of summer.

But for now, its time to take a step back and immerse myself amongst my finny friends again.... O.k...wheres my flyrod?????

I wonder how this wicked heat up will effect the streams/trout???

Heh, i'm such a lazy hiker too, nice to get the blood boiling with a heavy workout, feels good to complete the mission, but.... With fishing, you get to be efficient You gotta be able to get to your spot in a reasonable amount of time, so you've got more time to fish, and you've gotta catch enough fish to be satisfied in a reasonable amount of time so you've got time to go home, drink a beer and write it down so you can post about it

On the heat.... I was driving a bit this weekend, from here in the valley east on 90, then out into vt/nh... Every still body of water I was near, in this heat -- smelled wickedly of fish, I don't know how to explain it, but... my quick theory would be, dead fish

            Uhhh Ohhh!!!,
I hope the heat is`nt burning up our fish already...

Summer is just starting....I don`t remember it being this warm ,this early and for such long stretches......

My pool was almost 80 degrees yesterday.....felt like bath water.....

Hopefully the cool off is coming like they say...

Yes, it does feel good in heart and soul to accomplish a mtn. goal ..I`m not really a lazy hiker,I just don`t get out to do mtns. as much as I`d like to.I try to fit one or two in each year...theres not enough time for flyfishing let alone mtn. treks ,but its nice to view the world from another dimension and one can feel good about themselves for awhile after....

Good luck yo ya this weekend...its gotta be better than the last!!!!!

Bah, bad wording on my part, sorry WB I didn't mean to call you lazy.... I'm the lazy one, well at least I feel lazy when I hear of all the crazy mountain hikes people do on adk forum. Also the out of shape one that will be left winded for a month after a hike

I should go find some of those nice views, I'm envious of it. There's almost always a good view when wading in the middle of a stream, but... The mountain views leave you breathless!!!
