    Father's Day Gift

My beautiful bride and family let me go fishing on Father's Day...It was a very nice day...Nice to be on the water...Lucky, since most of our streams were deluged by all of the recent rain...WB and I didn't even wet a line on Friday when we got to a stream...

Heard a noise in the bushes along the stream as I just completed a cast with line in the run...Hooked a little guy and a little fawn came out for a morning sip of water...Stood like a scarecrow...He had a puzzled expression when he finally spotted me and didn't know what to make of this odd looking scarecrow standing in his stream...After a bit I heard his Mom shoot out her funny snort noise (you guys can probably explain better) to warn junior. I'm harmless I said. I look more ridiculous than menacing...

Caught some little guys, stream was perfect...The stockies are protecting the larger holdovers now...Tough to get thru them....Did have a few heavier hits...

Hope everybody had a nice Father's Day and hope Nessmuk had a great time with her Dad.

Fished the second shift after sleeping in this am.

Had a good day also on the same river brother marzrw fished early in the am.

I started upriver farther and got into a small brown first, then a wicked slam by a huge bruiser rainbow!!!!The flash was awesome as it whacked the soft-hackled dropper.....

After an eternity,I was able to walk backwards with the fish and slide a net under her.She barely fit....I new it was a big girl but I measured it to be around 21 and a quarter inches!!!. My personal biggest rainbow from this river....!!!!

Took a bunch of pics on my digital, but am currently having trouble posting them.Is there an easy way???

Help!!!!!!! I can be pretty computer illiterate.

Hooked two more small browns and missed a dozen nice takes and left the river fullfilled on Fathers Day!!!!

Awesome pictures! I especially like the one that is real close up!

Its amazing how 5 inches of rain in a week can change a river drastically! Dad and I tried a few of my favorite spots to no avail, the creek was about 3 feet higher than last Sunday!! Last weekend I had 40+ trout...this time O!!! But Dad had fun anyways....we saw an otter Saturday morning and a deer Saturday evening and reminenced about our trips up the Oswegatchie and treks through the Saint Regis Canoe Area and Fulton Chain. I have good reasons to honor my Dad...he taught me how to enjoy the outdoors and especially the Adirondacks!

That fawn must have been suprised to see you! How cool it is to see wildlife in such a natural setting....June is always a good time to catch a glimpse of the little ones learning how to do all sorts of things....like maybe snort at fishermen when they startle ya!

Wow...nice fish WB. I got to try some soft hackled droppers next weekend!

The Hex's should be showing up on the stillwaters in the next couple of weeks....that is always a fun hatch if you can hit it right.

Sounds like you and your brother had a great Fathers Day....nice weather and some action on the streams....it does not get any better than that!

Wow...that was a big bow...I have not caught a sizable rainbow in quite some time...gorgeous! I hear rainbows are fond of the hex hatch in late June/early July...your pics make me want to try a little rainbow trout fishing!

                  Thanks Sero,
I finally received a precious gift from the `Trout Gods`.

Yes, I do beleive I remember Nessmuk was really slamming the natives around that time.

Fishing is very funny.....it has so many ups and downs....just when you think you`re invincible and skunking is not in your language...whammo....they decide ...ok he/she has caught enough and they pull the plug and whisper in the trouts ear/gill...watch out for that guy/girl!!!!! ....they mean trouble.... and...then,all of a sudden....trout are harder to find than a needle in a haystack....we all go through these dry spells.....but some of us don`t have them quite as long..... if at all!!.....Right Sero?

BTW, she did have a very firm layer of skin/scales.....but, her color of clothing that afternoon was especially stunning!!!
