Missing rad hatches, a "not fishing" report

I haven't been able to wet a line in almost 2 freakin' weeks, I'm tired of this stupid "responsibility" thing! I'm having some major withdrawl!!! I'm especially bummed that I missed some op's to go fishing with sero :/

Yesterday, I went to a wedding down in the southern tier... They made the major mistake of having an outdoor wedding on the banks of the Susquehanna (which I'm probably spelling wrong, I can't even say it right, hah)... Not for a second could I take my eyes of the water, I think I saw like 2 minutes of wedding inbetween watching bugs come off the river.

...I nearly had to bite my tongue off to keep from shouting in excitement when I saw the coolest mayfly i've ever seen.... I've never seen one of these before, and it rocked my world, what an absolutely gorgeous specimen...

A PMD!!! I've seen the flies to imitate them, but, never seen one in the flesh.... how damn gorgeous. Man that yellow-ish color is surreal. I've gotta get some lemon woodduck feathers, even if I never see one again, I've got to tie an imitation now.

On the way home, just after dusk following route 12 north along some other southern tier river... I started to see what I thought were rain drops on the windshield... but it looked like snow in the headlights... Nope, a thiiiick hatch smashing on my windsheild. Mel says "is it because we're next to a river that the bugs are so thick?", "yep.... and they're hatching this thick just to spite me, hey we're on 12 already, let's just keep going north past utica "

...I gotta get my butt out there. I'll be back with an "actually fishing" report, asap

I think I saw a couple PMD's today also. Very dainty, exquisite.

Don't worry, proto's OK. He got out today.
He and I spent a few hours w/the trout.
I'm curious to hear his report!

He's gonna save me the grief of putting it into words...

            Fishing = Peace of Mind

I get downright cranky if I don't get out at least once a weekend to do a little fishing....but sometimes its hard to break away, especially if ya gotta travel somewhere away from your fishing grounds.

I have one more week left of work then I'm on VACATION!!! But, I have a demolition project planned that week too....so I'll be balancing work around the cabin vs. fishing all week....it should be interesting. I already feel torn....it will be "The Adventures of Dumpster Girl" by day, and "The Fanatic Flyfisher" early in the morning and late evening. Talk about burning the candle at both ends! At least these days are the longest days of the year and there is enough time to fit everything in!

            OK...gotta go to work....4 more days...think fishing!

I agree 100% about the crankiness when your not able to get out(flyfishing).I was probably very unbearable at work during my early project.Weeks and weekends blended together and the days were empty.I needed to break the monotony and what better way than doing that long native brooktrout hike-in w/Marzrw. Thank the fish Gods also, .... they were alittle extra gullible that day and we both felt satisfied and worn-out.Life does`nt get much better than that. Like Sero once said "its just what the Doctor ordered" and you know, hes exactly right!!
.So...... while you`re on your demo job,try to get out and continue your favorite pastime.Just remember everyone still needs rest once in awhile.

4 more days of work!!!You can do it.Take one day at a time!!!!Take care.

WB, you're totally right. You gotta be happy to be productive Damn that's a freakin' good excuse to go fishing!!

Sero did infact bring together the magic ingredients to get my endorphins goin' to get my brain producing some more serotonin Fishing report on the way "extra terrestrial"!
