    Rain...finally

    Well deserved rain!!!!

Finally, the heavens are giving the trout a nice drink of water....

I don`t know about your neck of the woods,guys/gals.....but ours were getting alittle thin as of lately. This good soaking rain should fill them for awhile.Even see more showers for the upcoming work week.Yeeeahhhhh!!!!!!!

Now we gotta hope it stops by friday. The wife and I are planning a hike friday. She just mentioned if its raining she won`t want to do it.

So, I guess we`ll have to keep our fingers crossed.Do you think she would mind if I brought the flyrod?

I know when I ventured out this weekend on the streams they looked at mid summer level - way low!! I noticed today the flow to the east of the Mountain Home Road looked more like a meadering stream. What we need is a week of steady rain, no downpours, just a nice gentle steady rain. Last year was a great fishing year....it spoiled me...water levels stayed up and cool all summer. I am a little concerned that the levels have dropped so soon...the only saving grace is the hot spells have not stayed on too long...its hardly gotten up to 50 today! Lets hope for some nice soaking rain this week, and a clearing by Friday morning for a nice "Adirondack Summer Opener" this Memorial Day!

WB....ALWAYS carry the flyrod... just in case!! It would kill you if you arrived at your destination and you saw a dimple on the surface w/o a line to toss out!!

Nessmuk, I couldn't agree more. Last year was something to behold and a great year for my 21 yr old son to really get into the flyrod due to the great conditions he caught a ton of trout, one brown was 20", not bad for a novice. Hope we get a year somewhat close to that.We ALL got spoiled. i I had a pretty good year last year as well. I don't think today's rain will make a big difference unless as you suggested we get a nice week of gentle rain.

Dittos on the rains.... Was at a hole for a couple hours this weekend.... and god it was low, sooooo easy to spook the fish. Literally with each step I'd take, I'd see 6-12 trout move for different lies :/

Hooray for the rain, we need it!!
