    Redemption!

You guys were right on! I am not a religious man, but the stars aligned for me on Monday afternoon when I landed a 21" Brown in one of my favorite ponds, and yes, in my newly framed Hornbeck. I'll post some pictures soon. I also caught a 14" Brown. The whopper came first, though. Not a bad start to the year after all!

Great .That is just perfect. Everybody will sure be glad for you. A Lake Clear as you said before? Worms or flies?

      Instant Karma.

      Man... that was fast!

My friends like to say, 'Never trust a white man driving a Black Van', he's just savin' all his voodoo for you'. Then we laugh. Works for me. I think it might even be a good luck charm... or an evil-spirit-warder-awayer...

Anyhow, all fishermen/women are either superstitious, spiritual, or religious.
I like to drive a black van and go fishing.

Congrats GG! Good for you for gettin' right back on the horse! Can't wait to see the photos!
      Your vessel is now blessed.

            Hornberg?
            Hornbeck?
            Hornbeck-berger?

GG, i just picked up some Gray Ghosts today, for a pond trip on friday. (How deep were you fishing?)
...Dragonflies, and other nasties too. Wicked nice bead-chain tandem-bodied leeches. Tiny soft-hackles just in case...

              GG.
I told you there are FishGods looking down upon all thoughtful fishermen/gals.I am so glad you hit those beauties after such a nightmarish start.I admire your fishing faithfulness. As Sero said"you got right back up on the horse".Congratulations and I hope your year continues on the same note.I think your canoe is going to feel alot like a good ol` buddy from now on!And of course your new truck.Enjoy the memories!!!21" brown ....wowsa....

I think we should start another thread about how we all either got started flyfishing or how we got bitten by the fly bug.Whatta y`all think? My brother Marzrw has all to do w/my conversion.Story later.

                  Ken-
                  Those are big nasties, right?
That's what you caught those NICE fish on...?
                  How did you fish 'em?

I've got a couple more days to bulk up...

Did you see any insects when you were out?

                    I don't know if they are big...maybe a 1/2"...I fished them on bottom...trolling slow.

There were some bugs hatching...no idea what they were...

                      More

Monday- Landed the 21" Brown I already reported, plus a 14" Brown.
Tuesday-Skunked. Spent more time fighting with tackle.
Friday-I landed a 15" Brown, and my cousin landed a 21" Brown! It looked like a clone of the fish I caught on Monday. Another friend landed a 19" Brown--hooked jaw and all.
Sunday-Very windy, though I managed to land a 13" Brookie. Wind blew my Hornbeck around pretty good.

Pics will be posted soon. I can't post some of them because the backdrop may give away the location! Hopefully more success to come. -GG

Great, sounds like you have a real sweet spot that you fish.
