Nice find, however I just used it to look up my leaseowner and it's out of date by close to 21 months in my case.

I'll keep it bookmarked for future reference. TY for this link.

Here's another tool that you might try..it would be interesting to learn if it's also out of date. There are differences between the mobile and PC app but property lines and ownership should be consistent.

Is there a way to view land ownership information online? If, for example, I had an interest in reaching out to a landowner, or leaseholder, for inquiries about leasing opportunities for a particular area, is there a database which contains point of contact information?
It is also worth checking the County website where the land is located, a lot of counties have Real Property databases that are based on GIS mapping. I have used the Herkimer County one to check on the correct location of State Land in areas where the posting is not great.

          • The mapping app OnX Hunt shows all private land ownership and boundaries. Very helpful. I really like it. Many other features as well. Try it out.

            • I tried the free app during our deer season. it works pretty well, but know that the boundaries are not exact so be careful when your close to the line.

              • From the DEC web page you can get quite a lot of information, including wetland boundaries and tax map information. it takes some navigation to click on the right options from the tools and legend links, but it is all there on the Environmental Resource Mapper.

                • I have the annual subscription for $29 I found it pretty accurate on state / private boundaries in southern tier this year. I look for signs or markers to confirm. It also shows trails, allows you to mark waypoints, can save maps in case cell coverage is poor. Allows switching from topo to aerial photo. Also shows WMU boundaries and weather data. Well worth it in my opinion.
