    Preliminary Trip List

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So here's what we came up with. I'd emphasize that this is FAR from complete. We need your help with editing it. In particular, is the Class for each section correct, are there conflicts with other events, etc. If you'd like to add anything please speak up. Also, we need volunteers to lead all of these trips. If you know one of these sections and can lead a group down it speak up. You can contribute here on the message board or come to our next meeting, where we plan to finalize the schedule. Not sure when that'll be yet, but I'll let you know within the next couple days.

There are also some releases that I'm waiting on. The Beaver and Keuka releases aren't available (the Beaver trips are guesses) and we'll modify the schedule as we get more information. A couple of the trips on there sounded cool, so we threw them on there, but don't know if anyone can lead them or if anyone is interested. The Stony Creek Rendezvous (April 22-4) is one of those. It's a small festival to promote the river and proposed (they might be in progress, I'm not sure) modifications with a friendly rodeo and other fun stuff. Also, I'd like to add a couple of beginner trips further afield, such as the Slippery Rock (the lower section is gorgeous class II eddy hopping) or a weekend at the Mongaup/Esopus (both are Class II-III), which release in the summer. If people are interested, and if the release dates work (Esopus hasn't been announced) we could put a weekend trip on there.

This is the trip list from my club, flow paddlers. It costs $35 a year(I think) and is open mostly to folks from cny. It comes with a membership to the ACA, and is a great way to meet folks to paddle with, and get great free instruction. Every one of those trips is guided, and is free and open only to members. Anyone thinking about getting into paddlesports would benefit from a club of this sort. There are many in NY to choose from.
