Silver Lake Wilderness weather/trail condition info?

Hi all, new here. My friend and I are planning 3 days between Godfrey Rd and Canary Lake, April 21 start. What's the best way to get current weather and trail condition info for that stretch? I have looked extensively online, but I'm sure there's some stuff you pros know that I'm missing! Thanks muchly, Mark

While I haven't been there yet this year, every time I've hit Godfrey Rd. trailhead in the spring it's been fine. They currently have weight restrictions on the roads in the area due to mud season, but it should be no problem with a standard vehicle, especial a month from now.

Trail conditions will be muddy. There are some pretty good mud wallows in the first mile or so of the trail. It's private land, so there's some ATV tracks. No big deal, just mud. There will be some wet creek crossings, especially Goldmine Cr. No bridge there. I can't speak to the boardwalk between Silver Lake and Canary Pond, it's been a while. Maybe the NPT FB page will have some current info.

As far as weather conditions, you're on your own for that. So many weather aps, so little time.

Thanks TM. Great info. We'll have to build in some "wing-it" factor! ff
