    Slide Climbing in Winter

I posted this video link on a thread next door (adkhighpeaks) and others thought you guys might find it of interest. The original thread was about (in part) buttsliding down Macomb slide on fresh snow over ice. The video shows a skier, but walking, buttsliding or most any traveling on slides can cause this.

    Pucker Factor = 10.0

EDIT: Added link to AHP. I was waiting on permission.

Chuck Boyd taught the avy class at Winterfest this year and used that video. He said the skier did not go with the slide because he was roped up with his partner. Pretty crazy business

The best is when it happens unintentionally
I was getting a shot of Lake Placid from Algonquin last year in the winter time to bring home for the parents, and figured as long as I didn't move too suddenly, it was OK to stand on ice. Unfortunately.... I musta moved. Fell right on my ass thanks to a heavy pack... just kept moving.

I muted the audio so I don't offend anyone's kids. I can assure you, the original was NSFW (us college students have a way of expressing ourselves like that). EMS should use that in an advertisement selling crampons and ice-axes.
