After recent snow, current XC/BC skiable trails/areas

Given last nights (Tues 9th) spotty storm(s) and subsequent spotty coverage, where are the skiable trails right now? We got ~ 3-5 inches in SRF, as did the Santa Clara Tract area around route 458 (11 mile woods). I would say the Pinnacle Mt route is skiable, and possibly others in the area between Santa Clara village and the intersection of routes 30 and 458. I have also heard that the Old Forge area got HAMMERED, any local reports for that area?

Good news near Indian Lake/Thirteenth Lake.

Our Adirondack resort and hotel near North Creek is open year-round and offers on-site dining, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, cozy lodging, and more.

Wow, those are some hard core skiers in the tug hill report, hunting for snow at night. they must have needed a snow fix pretty bad! I must admit, I got a giddy vicarious thrill out of seeing a foot of fresh fallen snow! My turn isnt till this weekend.
        hurray for snow!!

          skiing on tug hill

Tug Hill, the "lesser wilderness" has a foot of snow on the ground in most places. Check out links to xc ski trails on the Carpenter Road, Barnes Corners, and Winona here.

Yeah, it'd be nice to ski in northernmost Lewis & Herkimer counties; only about 2+/- inches there........................

Anyone have advice for hiking tomorrow (9/13) in the regions south of newcomb. Obviously snow isn't a consideration, but is the mud going to be a problem for a day hiker? Any trail reports for places like Hadley, Crane, or Goodnoe ect?

looking for reliable reports from eveyone after this weekend...

so far, (Friday 19th) I skied just south of Boonville on the Eqypt road. conditions had about 1 1/2" of hard crust with 6-8" of powder. I suspect that the entire tug hill will get plenty of snow with this one.. As I was driving home it had snowed 4 more inches in the 20 miles that I had driven!!!!

I also looked at some web cams and old forge looks decent with 5-8" of snow. THis should open a bunch of miles to ski up there.

Along with the webcam from the Wanakena Ranger School, it looks like they also have a good 7-8" of snow so the Peavine swamp trail should be great!!!

hope everyone gets out there this weekend!!

                  FINALLY!!!
We got 9-12 in Northern Franklin county.
Skied the JR near Paul SMiths yesterday, conditions were great!
You could feel the powder/ice/powder layering effect corresponding to Monday, Monday night/Tuesday (depending on your latitude, of course)/Friday weather events.

Black River Wild Forest has around 18" of snow, with about an inch or so a day of fresh powder falling for the last week. Good skiing everywhere in the SW Adirondacks.

nice, the sw ADK's are getting some great snow this year. well, great for the winter we have had.

anyway, i was at the peavine trail just outside of cranberry lake and the snow was perfect. they currently have a 2"-3" base of hard crust with a 6"-8" powder topping. this was perfect with the cold temps as you could fly on this snow..

anyone been on the clamity trail to flowed lands lately. i'm really looking to ski this trail soon!!
