John's Brook Valley Lean-to's

Just wondering if anyone knows which lean-to's are able to be reserved through ADK in the John's Brook Valley? We are looking to secure a lean-to for next summer to attempt to do Marcy with children. We would like to get a few miles closer to Marcy the first day out, Marcy on the second, out on the third. Obviously, tents would be more weight for all so we would like to pack in as light as possible. I'm open to suggestions though I am not interested in camping at "bear central". Also, am aware of JBL, however, I'm looking for the camping option.

Thanks for the info on JBL Lean-to's. Been to the site - I guess I just need to call them as it doesn't list which lean-to's are reservable. Will post this information when I find out.

I suggest the bushnell falls leanto #2.
I stayed there with my daughter on a similar trip.
It gives you a good start if you are heading for Marcy. This is a regular leanto which is first come first serve. We stayed two nights. We came in on a Sunday night and had the area to ourselves.
If you avoid the weekends, it's pretty easy to get a leanto either at bushnell falls #1 or #2 or further up the phelps trail at slant rock.
