Hey everybody!!!
Im back and not really improved or anything, so we'll just leave it at- I'm back!
Here's the situation. My group is going back to the mountains in mid September and I was looking for a little more of your great advice. We are looking at doing yet another 3 day in and out and have four options at this point:
1. the Santanonis
2. the Seward Range
3. Haystack, Saddleback, and Basin
4. Hike into Flowed Lands from the South and hike it out from there.
In the spring, we bagged 4 of the 5 in the Dix range, bushwacking for most of it (for a fitness / ability standpoint), and we have replaced the weak link in our chain with one hell-bent-for-leather on becoming a 46er (and quite fit to boot...)
What I am hoping for is opinions on what has the best yield to effort ratio but will not leave us all too tapped for the rest of the week. We would like to basecamp (read: hike into a campsite / leanto) and go from there.
Everyone here was extremely helpful in our quest for the Dix range and I want to thank you all for that. Any input here would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. We are going up for a week. This three days is just the first of the trip for those of us that can get the time off from work. In the four days that follow, I will (God willing) finish the Dix range. I just wish I could have done it in 1 trip...
