    Hiking/fishing trip to LP sunday-tuesday

heading up north on sunday for a couple of days. on sunday i plan on snooping around and finding some stream fishing no hiking due to the fact that i cannot leave saratoga until 11:30.

monday i plan on doing cascade/porter then more fishing to end the day.

I just dont know what to do on tuesday, any suggestions? nothing too long so i dont fall asleep (again) on the way home!

    ps. how are the blackflies?

Black flies are about done but the mosquitos are in full force. Deer flies too.

Looking for a mountain to climb? Try Ampersand (between Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake, a few miles before Corey's road on the left). It's a short walk, steep, with nice views. This is my backup mountain (when other hikes fall through, etc).

      Road Closures Sunday!

You better check out the road closures most of the day Sunday due to the Ironman Triathalon, especially Rt 73 to LP. Up to Keene will be open but is a huge standing traffic jam.

Giant is a good bet for a half day hike (I like the route from Chapel Pond for the great views) - or Noonmark. They would both be on the way home from LP as well - assuming you're heading back on 73 to the Northway.

          Have a great trip!
