A trip report, actually:
Three of us who were intending on hiking over the mountain and down the Wilmington Trail to our second car didn't make it today due to weather conditions on the upper mountain: Try snow, rain, wind, and poor visibility, for starters....
We broke out on the first good lookout just below timberline and it was just plain nasty up there today (Saturday, May 6). So we made a prudent decision and turned around, forfeiting all the hard work we had done to get to that point.
There is always another day when you turn around.... sometimes there isn't when you don't.
