    West Canada Lakes/Cranberry Lake???

I'm looking for an easy trip in these two regions. Maybe 5-8 miles/day with little elevation gain/loss. I'm also not sure what ADKGuidebook the West Canada lakes region is in. Is it Central or Southern? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Central and West Central ADK Guidebooks

The Northville Placid trail section from Piseco to Wakely Dam would suit you fine if you're looking to do it overnight. Two overnights and you could do it to Lake Durant/Route 30.

In that case you could use thwe ADK Northville Placid trail guidebook as well.

Thanks. One other question: canisters appear to be a "recomendation" in all of the 'Dacks? I've used one in the high peaks, of course, but wouldn't an Ursack/stuff sack be adequate outside the High Peaks region?

Sorry for my ignorance, It's been a few years since I've been back to the 'Dacks.

          My ears are ringing.

An Ursack or a properly hung bearbag should be adequate for protecting your food in the West Canada's and/or the Cranberry Lake area. Of course a canister would protect your food the best, but IMO wouldn't be necessary.

          BTW welcome to the forum.
