Does anyone know if the Trail from the south meadow parking lot to Marcy Dam can be skied. ? I know that Lake Placid picked up a few inches of snow
on Monday night. Hoping to ski it this weekend .

Last month the road to south meadow was blocked off to cars. I have not been down the road before and had wanted to drive down and check out the campsites and parking. I think they are free?, first come first served?, vs the Loj. Is it normally blocked access in the winter? Has anyone camped down there? What are the campsites like?

"South Meadow approach to the High Peaks again just barely skiable with 3" new snow. Avalanche Pass has cover and will be skiable with the new snow."
