Giant Mountain

I was wondering about the trail following the summit of Giant Mountain. Last August I hiked up Giant via the Zander Scoot trail I noticed at the summit there is a trail that goes on further along the summit for some miles. The reason I ask is I saw the sign for the trail and thought about a possibility of hiking that trail. If you know what the trail is and where it goes could you leave a post. Thanks.

One end of the trail goes over to RPR, the other down behind the mountain.

I think the trail you are refering to is the North Trail to Giant. Much longer approach but much less crowded.

The trail (#111 of HPs trail guide) heads North where you can continue on toward Owl's Head Lookout and route 9N (Spruce Hill) by eventually hanging a right, or you can go onto trail #52 by taking a left, which leads toward Hopkins and Spread Eagle Mountains and eventually Rt. 73 at a northerly trailhead.
