    Ouluska Pass

I searched the forum and found a lot of discussion/speculation on Ouluska Pass, but I didn't see anything definitive. So I'm hoping you can help me out with a couple of questions:

    1) Anyone been through the pass lately?

    2) I know you can get there from the Emmons slide, but what about from Seymour?

I've never been in the Sewards, but I'm heading there in October and I'm route planning now. Thanks for the help everyone.

    1) Yes, I have stood in the pass several months ago. It's a bushwhack from Ward Brook for about a mile before reaching the old logging road and signs of obvious and recent trailwork (within the last decade). It's not an official trail by any stretch, so other hikers must have done it to reduce impact(?). Once you find the logging road/herd path to the west of the brook leaving the pass, it's pretty easy hiking into the pass where you have some decent views of the cliffs along Seward mountain. I attached some waypoints I took from that hike.

    2) Supposedly there's a herd path off Seymour to the pass. It was our hope that day to find a path to Seymour from the pass but never bothered once there (it was already a full day just to get up there). Someday I'll return and find it. Supposedly there's also a way of getting up to the col between Donaldson and Seward from the pass, but an article I read suggested that there's a lot of blowdown on that side of the range.

Thanks all for the quick responses. I always like any alternative to the out and back route.
