I'm planning to climb Pillsbury sometime next week, to go along with my theme of climbing a higher mountain each year. (Last year was crane next year will be wakely, then snowy and finally I will skip all the high peaks and get straight to Marcy.) Anyway, has anybody climbed it lately. How is the trail, the views and driving to the trailhead. Look forward to info and responses.

I cherish the outdoors. Its the adventure, the unknown, and the call of the wild that gives me its thrill, passion, and deepest respect.Tags: None -
It has been a couple of years but the view from the tower is good. The trail is good. The drive in is rough. I wouldn't try to get all the way to the trailhead without a high clearance vehicle. When I went we parked about a mile before the trailhead.Die Free and Live -
I just drove back up in there with my GMC Jimmy, no problem.
It's bacsically a rustic two rut backcountry "jeep trail". Nothing real steep so long as it's dry, most vehicle with any stones should be fine. 4 WD is best of course, but I never had to go into 4 wheel mode, cept on the way out when it was pouring rain.
It's uphill going in and downhill heading out. Have fun."I can feel your anger. It gives you focus. It makes you stronger. " Supreme ChancellorComment
