Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use cross country ski's on the lake road. I'm planning to hike Sawteeth in a couple of weeks and would love to trade my boots for ski's on the way to and from the lake.

Yes, if the snow is decent. Many people ski it when the snow is decent. It is a nice gradual run back, but mostly uphill in. -
Having skis on the road saves a significant amount of time on the way out. Just watch out for snowmobiles (the Ausable Club employees will occasionally use them to patrol the road).Comment

After this weekend, the snow should be fairly descent I would think until the next mid-winter thaw!!!Comment
