  • Does anyone know about Eggleston Falls??

I was reading on my Outdoorsman field guide and noticed a waterfalls marking in corinth, I looked it up and it said Eggleston Falls drop 100 ft. I was wondering if anyone has been or knows how to get here. I love waterfalls and this caught my attention. Thanks for any information.

Access to the falls is on private property, owned by the company that uses the head of water to generate power. It is the highest head of water on the Hudson River, but is actually almost non-existent because the water is all funneled thru the hydro generator. The falls is a combination of falls and damn with an inflatable tube atop the concrete portion for further control of the "pond" behind the damn. It is not quite the site it sounds like.

....... with the good Lord willin' and the creeks don't rise.......

Just happended to see this thread.

I'm not sure we're talking abou the same place. The Eggleston Falls I know is located off the road from Corinth to the Sacandaga Res. It's located on topo maps. It is on private property, MacArthur Park, but is a lovely setting. Water may be diveted upstream, but you never know it. There's no dam in sight. The falls are in a lovely hemlock cul-de-sac with stairs taking you down to them and an archway for wedding ceremonies. There is a "bridge to nowhere" at the top of the first and highest falls.

I believe that part of the move, "Billy Bathgate", (Dustin Hoffman, Bruce Willis and Nicole Kidman) was shot there.

It's not maked along the road, you have to know where it is.

          Permission should be aquired.
