What kinds of racing are going on in mountains? I enjoy the quiet....I canoe, camp, hunt, and fish here....but I also love to watch some good racing. I have a Hotsaw that I raced at the Tupper Lake Woodsman's Days this year. How about snowmobile racing? Powerboats? anybody going to an event?

    Hi Troutfisher,

Here's a small attempt to answer your question:

You might try these links for some info:

You may find some here to be against the concept of racing in the Adirondacks, but it's not an inappropriate topic.

Here in Wells our motorsports consist of local stepping out in front of the tourists driving through town.

Good links! I like those antique racing boat engines . I work as a Mechanic 40 hrs. a week, so I like the big horsepower stuff. I know Cranberry Lake is a snowmobiler's paradise in the winter...not sure if there is any organized racing. I know most of us are looking for the peace and serenity of the adirondacks, and this topic doesn't blend well with that. There is the Booneville woodman's days this weekend, lots to see and do.

            Nah helmets are for sissies.

I wear my Gen-u-wine autographed Lute Hawkins beanie, complete with propeller and ear flaps.

it's constructed out of all natural materials, twigs, grass and mud.

What is it about men that causes them to adore LOUD NOISE?

                    Just kidding.

Royal Mountain has been running MX and MC Hillclimbs for years. They're just about done for this season however.

While their main track is south of the Adirondacks the Electric City riders do some ice racing in the winter. Sometimes they run up on Lake George:

Does anyone know anything about the rally car event held around Harrisville every year? It's usually in Sept, I think?
