Lake Placid Brewery and Pub. Good brews and I had their ribs too and they were excellent.

14 Mirror Lake Dr. I highly recommend the 46er IPA and the Ubu Ale. Don’t forget to pick up a Growler to bring home.

          It's all about the Ubu

Like they said above, go to the Pub and get an Ubu, you won't regret it

The "pub-grub" there is good too, I always get the fish and chips, yum.

Alpine Cellar, 2830 Wilmington Rd., Lake Placid. Great German food and beers.

Lake Placid Pub and Brewery is tops IMO. If you like hoppy beers then you'll also like their Frostbite Ale, much more hop to it then the 46er. I enjoy the 46er, but haven't quite developed my taste for the Frostbite just yet! Ubu is still my favorite.

Also in Lake Placid, is the Adirondack Steak and Seafood Company. They also brew their own beers on site. It's been a while since I've been there, but last time I was there the beer was good. Especially enjoyed the Ausable Wulff Red. FWIW, their food is a little more pricey then the LPP&B, but there is a bar area if you just want to enjoy the beer. Oh, they're located right on Main Street on the left hand side, towards the far end of town.

Well I was very dissapointed the other day but then became happy...I tried a 46er ale for the first time and let me say I thought it was horrible. A little too sweet for me, but then I tried an ubu and WOW thats a good beer! thx for the recomendations, next is the frostbite!

The Party Source on Erie Blvd (2646 Erie Blvd, East Syracuse) carries Ubu, if you want to pick some up locally. They carry 46er too, but it sounds like you won't want any more of that. I don't remember if they have any of the other Lake Placid beers there.

Ubu's my favorite. So much so, that I got the recipe and now make it at home.

Years ago, they have a Winter 46er Ale. I think that is what is now their Frostbite ale.

When you are in search of good beer, bit of homework helps...

                              http://beeradvocate.com

Never knew what "46er" IPA actually meant when I first discovered this beer in South New Jersey... until I found this ADK Forum.

When ever I am hiking around ADK, I actually carry one bottle of micro brew in my back pack..specially reserved for that special place that I may find during my hike...

                              And of course..carry-in and carry-out....

It would be interesting to find out what the general public (non-ADK circle of beer drinkers) may think of the 46er IPA
