    Riding in the ADK's

A member of another forum I belong to is planning on doing a birthday ride with his father in the Adirondacks. He'll be coming in from the Vermont side of the state. He was wondering about a few roads/routes that would be scenic and point him in the direction of some good food and a nice place to sleep.
He's not going to have enough time on the trip to hike, so all the views will be from the road. Please post any ideas you may have so he can make his father's 60th b-day a memorable one.

    Thanks,
    Scott

The road to the Adkloj! hands down the best view I think.

I don't know how long a ride you're looking for, but certainly Rt. 73 between exit 30 and Lake Placid, with a side trip to the Loj as Redhawk suggested would be a good bet. Of course there are lots of good eats and sleeps along the way and in Lake Placid.

Thanks for the info, it's greatly appreciated and I'll pass it along.
Any other ideas out there? I just want to give him some options, as they might have to adjust their schedule...
