    New Comers?

My friends and I are taking our first trip north for one of our trips this year. We usually head down to Tennessee, Virgina, and so forth. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a 3 day trip on where to start? We are moderate backpackers, who also love to fish for trout. So if anyone has any ideas please fill me in.

    Thanx

Siamese Ponds for trout, especially early in the season (hopefully it's ice-out by then)... should be real close to shore .

Too many places to list here. Be sure to browse some of the more recent posts in this section, yours is a popular topic right now.

If you're looking for somewhere to hike to and spend 3 days Siamese ponds are a good choice. It about a 6 mile hike. A large part of the hike in is along the Sacandaga river so you can fish along the way. There are plenty of sites around the pond. You can hike/bushwhack around the larger pond to the smaller pond where the fishing is bettter(IMO).

If you are looking to hike everyday or do a loop there are a couple loops to be done in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness which will put you on a different trout water each night. There is also nice loop in the West Canada Lake Wilderness that bring you by Pillsbury lake, Sampson Lake,West Lake and Cedar Lake...all have trout.
