Jessup River / Sled Harbor Road winter policy?

Does anyone know exactly what the winter policy is for the Jessup River Road and Sled Harbor Road (International Paper Company land)?

I know something occurs after December - is it "enter at your own risk", or is it officially completely closed and off limits?

I'd like to explore the West Canada Lakes Wilderness this coming weekend if I can park at the Pillsbury Mountain trailhead or Sled Harbor parking lot.

Any info would be tremendously appreciated.

If it it is still snowed in it is a snowmobile trail. I'm not sure what the legality/illegality is of taking a vehicle other than a snowmobile in there. During the mud season the road is gated to prevent erosion.

Maybe Michael J. Gersten can answer you question better if you e-mail him.

(click on his name for e-mail) A lot of that land in there is leased out to hunters so he may be in the know.
