      Museum

I happened to pick up the Tupper Lake Free Press with that piece about The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks. According to the article, the museum "is well on the way to its goal of a July 4, 2006 Grand Opening". "The building is fully framed, and the siding is nearly completed". The pond will be lined and filled in the spring. "Leantos are being built by the DEC and will be reassembled in the great hall".

Sounds like a must-see this summer. I've been hearing about this for a couple years now, and look forward to visiting. Fundraising is still under way. Check it out at http://www.wildcenter.org/

My wife and I were given a tour of the site this fall and are charter members. I was very impressed with the plan. The plans call for an indoor stream complete with Otters and Brooktrout (seperated of course)! There also will be a glacier exhibit. They have taken some White Birch trees from the property and are using them inside the building.I wont give away anymore details but anyone who is interested in the Daks or Natural history will find it very interesting.I am looking forward to checking out the finished product. This will be good for the Tupper area, and they sure could use it.
