    And we have snow

Yes we have snow, and a good amount of it. It started yesterday in Paul SMiths around 2:30. I drive from AuSable Forks and we have a nice wet sticky snow covering everything. Weighing down tree and knockin em over. This morning I had to find a different route due to a fallen balsam fir. I can only imagine how much snow they got in teh high peaks, for we have between 6-10 inches in differnt areas. I Plan on doding a littel snowshowing and tracking later to see what I find. Oh well jsut thought youd all like to know the news. Coem bearing skis , snow showes and crampons if you planning to be hiking this weekend. But then agian It supposed to be pretty nice so im sure the snow will not last long. But I'm sure it will be back in no time! - Wiley I liek this new thing so I figured I beat a dead horse for the fun of it.

Looks like a good amount. So, winter unofficially begins in the northcountry. In preparing for Sundays hike, getting out my snowpants, snowshoes, crampons, etc. has got me so excited. Yay, winter!!!!

Just did Colden on Wednesday, 11/23/05, and there was a few inches of snow. It was a nice view on top, but I personally found the snow level to be a little ackward. It was a little to much snow to bare boot or you would slip a lot, to little snow to snowshoe, and the crampons were scraping rocks. Had a great time, but I can't wait for more snow or no snow.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with relatives who live on the Sacandaga Reservoir near Northville. I estimate 5" of snow accumulated while we were there - light and fluffy with just enough moisture to make great snowballs, but not enough for snowshoes.

We got about 7-8 inches of snow here in Wells. Of course I can't get my snowblower from Sac Equip until the 3rd of December when my SS comes and I have a bad cold so i can't shovel my driveway.

                          Other then that, it's beautiful!!

I agree. I did Skylight/Marcy Friday and found the same. Didn't use crampons at all but that could change quick. Used snowshoes briefly from Four Corners to Skylight and to treeline on Marcy.
