    Heavy Snow Prediction

Looks Like Mays00 will get his wish! 6-12" of snow is predicted for today. Anyone heard from Tim and the status of his 16 mile Sawteeth bushwack?

ADackR, how many in your party? Where do you plan on sleeping? I may see you in there if my plans hold for the w/end. I wonder if we'll need snowshoes?

I'm still hoping to go in there but yeah, I guess now I'll have to ski the road, in the dark, on Fri. night. Maybe use klister if it's going to be icy. I'll carry my snowshoes for the Sawtooths.

Also, some friends were finishing their Hundred Highest on Sawtooth 5 (?) tomorrow but cancelled. If they decide to go for it this weekend I'll be joining them. O/W I was going to try for 4 and 2 on Sat. and 5 on Sun. I'll have to see how much the snow slows me down. Have you already done the Sewards? You will prolly want crampons.

For a nice fire saturday night I plan on bringing a fairly sizeable bucksaw. I'll leave it out so whoever gets back to the LT first can keep warm by sawing a bunch of wood.

Thanks for inquiring, it got canceled, not so much for the hiking portion, we had a Strong party going in. But the winter storm in the overnight hours would have played hell on the 3 people that were commuting in anywhere from 120-160 miles to the trailhead.

Not worth the aggrevation or chance of a car wreak on the way in...... ST5 will be there always, we gotta make sure we are here long enought to hike it.
