    Snow on the Summits...

Any reports of significant accumulation (i.e. 3+ inches) of snow on summits? When can I expect this? I guess ski deprivation is starting to wear on me. I know it might be a while before I make turns, but I really want to see some snow to get me psyched. I miss snow.

I would expect the snow to arrive just about any time now. With all this rain, there is ice up there already from a report I read on VFTT. I remember several years ago, getting caught in a big snowstorm on Algonquin on Halloween.

I canceled my trip to Dial/Nippletop last week due to rain. I was hoping to try it on Saturday. Any estimation as to hiking conditions re: snow and ice in that area?

Oh joy. Looks like I'll be hunting in the rain.
A man needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go hiking.

Doug and I will be on the Raquette this weekend and maybe hiking into Shattuck Clearing from Raquette Falls. Might be a little wet and chilly.

Getting geared up for winter camping.....

                  we got some snow

Last week, thurday i believe when i was driving back to my place there was snow on white face and other surrounding peaks. Today on my drive into paulsmiths i passed a few piles of snow and even a couple snow men. I guess when the majority got rain over the weekend there was a good amount of snow falling up here. Its bout 40 out now and the only signs of snow are little piles here and there. Just thoguth youd all enjoy the news
