Not much explaining to do. It's in the High Peaks and that's the regulation. I figured you couldn't, but didn't know if there was some special exception since their the ADK Mountain Club. I guess that wouldn't be fair though.*************ENDLESS WINTER**************Comment

Try the Western High Peaks - not as many trails to peaks as in the Eastern HP's but it's less visited - hence campfires are allowed! And if you ask me, what is camping without solitude and campfires?Comment

But the ADK closely aligns itself with the NYS DEC and follows the rules of the particular wilderness area they are in - in this case the Eastern High Peaks - I'm almost certain.Comment
