I did a search and found a single post regarding this subject, but I want to confirm that the information is correct. I want to know if you can use the back roads to access Bog Lake and sites #37/38 on Lows Lake from Sabattis Rd. The Adirondack Paddlers map show "seasonal" gates in place. Additionally, I cant find any information on Bog Lake anywhere besides a few odd mentions of it in trip reports here and there. I tried to reach the ranger for the area without any success. I am going to try again but figured I would also post here.

Accessing Bog Lake/Lows Lake from Sabattis Rd

No, there is no public access to Lows from Sabattis Road. You can either launch a canoe/kayak at the boat launch at the Lower Dam below Hitchins Pond near Horseshoe Pond, or you can hike in to the Upper Dam via the access road from the north.
The road that leads to sites 37 and 38 hasn't been maintained in years (and there is no longer a bridge there anways, so accessing 37 wouldn't be possible without a boat even if the road were still open).
