This Weekend: Hurricane Mountain

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to hike to Hurricane Mountain this weekend. I know it has been a very nice week weather wise this week. The question I have is what the condition of the trail itself is and how I should dress , snowshoes gloves ect.. seeing that Sunday is looking to be in the upper 70's

Probably:

Shorts and tees, sunscreen and sunglasses. Snowshoes on the pack lower down and on the feet higher up.

If you do Hurricane from rte. 9N you're on a southern exposure. Who knows, maybe there will be no snow at all.

Yeah I'd bring/carry snowshoes with you just in case. Still a fair amount of the white stuff at higher elevations.

Thank you for the assistance. Think cramp on are needed ? I just have such a hard time determining the Actual condition of the trails up there

What kind of snowshoes do you have? If you have something with decent traction (like MSR Evo Ascents or similar) I think you'd be ok. Could be some ice on/near the summit, which is pretty exposed.

Just regular snowshoes that I got from Dick's. Nothing too advanced
