    Tupper Lake activities?

A friend of mine has suggested that he'd make a near future invitation to his family cabin on Tupper Lake. Sounds great and I was wondering what's particularly good about the area. I personally LOVE canoeing and hiking (preferably to mountaintops and ponds). One of my favorite things to do is explore lake inlets. And of course meeting interspecies friends makes it all worth it.

So what critters and exploration opportunities are in that area? My previous experiences are in middle Lake George and the high peaks region (ie Marcy and lakes).

I have to live here year round so I either hike the high peaks or leave town as much as possible. Here are some links with the info you need.

Be sure to check out Arab Mountain plus Floodwood Mountain, both are quite easy and have very nice views. For slightly longer mountain hikes check out St.Regis Mountain and Jenkins Mountain. As for ponds, check out Deer Pond and the many ponds from Fish Creek Campground.Great canoing and kayaking can also be found on the ponds from Fish Creek.Hope these suggestions help.

A couple hours spent with Joe listening to his "Tupper Lake" jokes would make for quite an amusing evening. He has some good ones to tell.

I hope that Tupper Lake is more like Lake Placid in a couple of years. They need more adventure guides and gourmet coffee.
