Drive in camping sites near Tongue Mountain

I’m planning on doing a Tongue Mountain Range traverse this April; starting at Clay Meadows and ending at the north trailhead. Does anyone know of any drive in or short (1 mile or less) walk-in campsites near either of the two trailheads?
A man needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go hiking.

The Tongue mountains are on my april list too. I have next week off and hope to get up there during vacation. Does any one know what the trail conditions are like up there?
He found himself wondering at times, especially in the autumn, about the wild lands, and strange visions of mountains that he had never seen came into his dreams.

I think there is a camping spot on the west side of Route 9N near the Clay Meadows parking area. It's in about 50-100 yeards and above (north of) the brook with the cascades/waterfalls.

Watch the rattlers while on tounge. Saw a pretty good sized one this summer coild up on a rock sunning itself. That rattle will really stop you in your tracks.
